Being told at 12yo, after being groped: ‘Don’t walk out there by yourself, that’s how men behave toward girls when they’re drunk’.
The local footy club, the ‘beating heart of the community’, as the incubator & enabler of misogyny in the town.
Not just toward women. Toward children.
Kids learn. You’re a ‘good girl’ (an impossible ideal) or you’re a slut & had it coming. If you’re an alpha male you get away with anything.
Generations of normal. This is not a bad apple problem.
