I purchasesd a web domain earlier. WatchIce.live . got the idea from folks saying they want to live stream and record them watching Ice. This is how far we've come in that I'm not comfortable putting my family in this position. So if anyone would like the domain, maybe host Peertube for others to stream to, I'm more than happy to hand it to someone and I'm even willing to help set it up. But I no longer trust my government and can't risk my family. Reach out if you're interested.

I have no intentions of getting rich, or being a content creator, or what not. We have to start NOW to build out a better future for those that might want to do that in the future. Anyone joining YouTube in hopes of making it big have a shot, but they're slaves to Big Tech's arbitrary rules that change at the next wiff of money.

And yes, MakerTube is wonderful. TILVids is wonderful! There are bunches of great platforms. I'm also here to help folks set up their own!

Invest in yourselves, not Youtube, or Twitch, or TikTok. YES, use those, but don't let them be your sole source of income. They don't CARE about you!

We are a community that want to empower other communities to do what's best for THEM.

I don't know about other filmmakers or content creators, but I have never seen a dime from YouTube. Even when I pushed out regular content filming live events, even when I had huge numbers of followers and views, the only thing I ever got from YouTube was a bunch of nasty comments.

But unless they use ad-block, every person watching my videos sees ads they don't want for things they don't want. Google is making bank off my work, and I just want people to see it.

Just realized something. Nutrition labels were put on food to help educate folks as yo what they're eating. It helped normal people understand basic nutrition values in their food. This was one step to educating the public.

I just realized I want an Internet Privacy Label. When I go to sign up for a service you have to list out in detail every single way you sell my data and who to. I don't want legalese. I want a LIST.

Maybe once people see the long list they'll start taking this more seriously?

Anyone know if anything like this exists or is in the works?

There are amazing developers creating the platforms today to allow others to join the open social web tomorrow.

A lot of these platforms though have tools built around them that everyday folks rely on. Streamelements, nightbot, etc.

What are some tools/features/expectations YOU have from standard big tech that doesn't exist today?

Calling on all free and open source developers.

We need recommendations for current platforms that exist to support Owncast streamers via bots, tips, etc that can help people convert from Big Tech platforms and easily move away from platforms such as Twitch.

I'm guessing they don't exist ATM, but I'm willing to start a platform if folks know tools we can use. Such as easily running bot commands in chat.

I know Le Fractal as emojiwall.

What else exists?

What features would YOU need to make your conversion to Owncast or Peertube easier?
