Use e teste diferentes aplicativos para ver o que mais gosta. Já usei vários e recomendo o @moshidon para #android (feito pelo @lucas_na_ursal). O #moshidon, por exemplo, permite interagir com a timeline de várias instâncias. Depois coloco uma recomendação aqui de um app para iOS.

Postou uma imagem, um gif ou um vídeo, coloque o texto alternativo. Isso é bem importante e valorizado por aqui. Eu mesmo só dou boost se tiver texto alternativo. Outra dica importante é descrever sua foto e capa do perfil

O #mastodon na web também pode ser acessado com interfaces alternativas como: elk.zone e https://phanpy.social. Experimente, o #fediverso é cheio experiências diferentes e proveitosas! Um mundo novo

Além da #hashtags você também podem seguir interagir com comunidades do Lemmy (Forum ou Reddit daqui) ou de grups. I ran my own #GoToSocial instance for about a year. Had fun and learned a lot, but the experiment ran its course. I wasn't prepared to handle so much data, and my VPS was straining.

I am on this snac2 instance with an eye toward a future experiment of running my own instance.

One short question: how to allow instance posts to be quoted in GoToSocial? On the profile or posts setting, on [instance URL] /settings, I don't find the "who can quote" option. Who can reply, who can like, or can boost. But not quote. GoToSocial installed from YunoHost. #activitypub #AskFedi #fediverse #GoToSocial #help

I like that snac2 has a setting for how long to keep your posts. That was missing from #GoToSocial, where I didn't necessarily want to keep everything forever.

On one hand, it’s neat running a single user #gotosocial instance.

On the other, it’s hard to really get my feed dialed in and feel like part of a community.

some form of community blocklists - well, they are 'shared blocklists' but they contain also exchange between some of the well moderated instances - see https://codeberg.org/nev/awesome-fediadmin/#basic-blocklists

some good resources also from @iftas at https://about.iftas.org/library/denylist-resources/

some instances publish their blocklists in raw, importable, form.

mastodon allows importing whole blocklists (but not automatically)

#GoToSocial allows subscribing to any blocklist on the internet and it will update in short intervals as they change.

GoToSocial also has a very fine-grained control if a post can be commented on, or boosted - including approvable requests to do so.

(btw, also some GTS devs block mastodon.social on their own instances because of "not good" moderation on that huge instance)

also, I think terms "blacklisting" and "whitelisting" is not appropriate to use. most use terms such as blocklist and denylist.

GoToSocial is needed to interact with Fediverse users, as the other platforms miss some activities.
⁃ WriteFreely: very good, minimal to write, but it has no space for search or comments. It's OK just for the stories.
⁃ WordPress: it has federation through plugin, comments appearing on the site, but not yet usable as a fediverse actor for common interaction, with an ordinary client. Icecubes, Mona, Phanpy, Enafore, Tweesecake, Elk, etc. And "enable mastodon apps" is still buggy.
⁃ As I have contents both in Italian and English, I currently have to choose: do I federate the English and Italian WordPress sites where real world and long-form fictions are published, and have just an unified project's instance on GoToSocial where I personally talk (me and my other co-worker) both in Italian and English? I honestly am very conflicted. #activitypub #gotosocial #WordPress

#SelfHosting Week 4, phase 1.
Let's restart with week 4, as I took several days of PAUSE into my Self Hosting experience.
Today I took the bull by the horns and removed LEMMY as I don't exactly need a Reddit-style format; I just need to interact with my readers through fediverse.
What I did, installing GoToSocial. And the result is I can talk to users through my already owned Fediverse clients! Not to kention the fact I can manage users via command line without much trouble.
Consequence, I now have a fully functional account with my own nickname, my real name, bio, and stuff. Now let's install the Fediverse client. It's really empowering to self-host our own social networking platform.

Werde mich in den nächsten Tagen mal etwas intensiver mit der neuen Version des #Fedilab|s beschäftigen. Vor allem, wie gut die Integration von #Pixelfed gelungen ist.
Aber auch, ob man Unterschiede bei der Nutzung von #Mastodon oder #GoToSocial existieren.
