It features compressed savegames management, profile management (save a profile manually or by analysis via a simple drag-and-drop of a game shortcut, specific triggering of a savegame profile by desktop shortcut), automatic backups (with settings for the number of backups to keep, compression level, source size and available space checks), Steam (detection of installed games) and Minecraft support, emulator support (experimental), all without requiring administrative privileges.

🕶️ The tool's logo (a crate) 📚️ game-data-packager is a libre tool allowing to package non-free game data provided by the user to install them on his Debian distribution. It consists of scripts written specifically for each supported game. The tool supports many operations automatically: creating the menu entry (.desktop file), detecting the user's language, searching for the data (native or via Wine), validating it (checksum), extracting it, and storing it in the right place (where the engine is waiting for it), and using the right engine.

Destiny 2 is currently being downloaded (3% complete). The top of the interface is devoted to menus (various search filters, settings, game counters, etc.). 📚️ Rare is a libre, multi-platform interface for the Epic Games Store, enabling you to install, uninstall and launch your games - via Legendary (a command-line tool adding a layer of compatibility with this store). It enables authentication on the store, installation on hard disk or in the cloud, updating and setting up Wine and games, searching for information on ProtonDB, checking games and repairing them if necessary. Its interface provides an immediate overview of your game library (installed/uninstalled games, installation progress), plus filters to make searching easier. An excellent tool!

GOverlay is another complementary libre project delivering an interface to set up MangoHud, to choose what information will be displayed.

As an emulator, it runs OSes and software designed for other machines with excellent performance in terms of speed. As a virtualizer, it achieves near native performance by executing the emulated code directly on the host processor via the Xen hypervisor or the Linux kernel KVM module. It supports ARM, PowerPC, i386, x86-64, CRIS, M64k, MicroBlaze, MIPS, SH4 and SPARC architectures.
